Four young gymnasts from Beckington First School near Frome are jumping for joy after winning a regional schools gymnastics event, which took place in Bideford, Devon, on 28th of January.
The gymnasts Evie, Isabelle, Maya and Stanley aged 8 and 9 from year 4, came first in the Under 11 Mixed Category by competing on floor and vault, and performing a synchronized group routine. The event was the South West Milano Team event and was organised by The British Schools Gymnastics Association.
The Beckington First School team will now be heading off as part of the South West team to the national finals, which will be held at Fenton Manor, Stoke On Trent, on Saturday 17th March.
Headteacher Claire Chantler and gymnastics coach Sarah Kendrick, say they are overjoyed at the win and extremely proud of the children who took part.
