LOCAL bowls clubs have raised over £1,500 for charity from a local tournament.
Frome Selwood and Frome Park combined to play a series of games against Purnell BC, Paulton BC, Prattens BC and Norwest BC in a mini league with the two top teams playing off in the final.
The chosen charity was Swallow, a Radstock based charity which provides user-led support for teenagers and adults with learning disabilities, and the amount raised was £1,553.70.
In this year’s final, played at Frome Selwood BC, the combined Frome team were the eventual winners in a closely fought contest against Purnell BC.
