AMERICAN blues/rock guitarist, Walter Trout, will be playing at the Cheese and Grain next Wednesday, 25th November.
Walter will be playing songs from his latest album Battle Scars, which is his 18th on the Provogue label, and his first since a life-saving liver transplant.
Blues veteran Walter has rubbed shoulders with the likes of John Lee Hooker, Eric Clapton and Mick Taylor, since starting out on the blues scene in the 1970s.
On playing at the Cheese and Grain, Walter said, “”I have played in Frome many times. It’s always been one of my favourite UK stops. We always get a great crowd at the Cheese and Grain so I look forward to getting back there and playing for those people again. It’s going to be fun – I hope to see you there.”
Walter has released a total of 42 albums in a number of bands and been awarded numerous accolades, including tied sixth place with Brian May in BBC Radio 1’s ‘Top 20 Guitarists’ poll.
Following his brush with death in 2014, Walter is now moving triumphantly forward in his 50th year as a guitarist.
He is in the midst of a global tour with keyboardist Sammy Avila, drummer Michael Leasure, and new bassist Johnny Griparic, who joined the band in time to record Battle Scars in Los Angeles’ Kingsize Soundlabs with Walter Trout’s longtime producer Eric Corne.
The Cheese and Grain gig will start at 8pm on Wednesday 25th November – tickets cost £26.50.
