Fair Frome, the local independent charity dedicated to alleviating poverty in our community, has announced an exciting new partnership with The Old Church School (TOCS).
TOCS, a co-working space on Butts Hill, recently installed a food bank donation point and held a fundraising quiz for Fair Frome, which raised £245.
Fair Frome’s Assistant Coordinator, Rebecca Harrison, said, “We are delighted that The Old Church School members chose us as their charity partner. We would like to thank them for installing a food bank donation point in their welcoming space and promoting donations, and we had great fun at their recent fundraising quiz. We look forward to future events.”
Fair Frome supports the town’s most vulnerable residents through a wide range of hands-on projects including the food bank, the furniture bank, Food at 5 community meals, the community pantry, holiday lunches and the baby basics bank. The charity also provides practical help with essentials such as school uniforms, carpets and transport to medical appointments, as well as campaigning and being a voice for those in need.
It works in partnership with other local businesses in the town providing sustainable services as part of a circular economy; supporting service users, reducing food waste and providing employment. Fair Frome also enables businesses to fulfil their Corporate Social responsibility through meaningful volunteer opportunities such as corporate team building days that allow staff to give back to the community.
TOCS is a shared workspace in the heart of Frome which is home to a diverse community of freelancers, creatives, small businesses and remote teams, and has over 100 members.
Gavin Eddy, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Forward Space which runs TOCS, said, “Frome has always held a special place in our hearts. It’s a town full of creativity, independence and spirit and we’ve felt incredibly welcomed by this community since we first opened The Old Church School back in 2007. Supporting Fair Frome is our way of giving something back to a place that’s given us so much.”
