A new female president has been appointed at Frome Lions Club, the second woman to lead the club in its 58-year history.
Alison Rumming was appointed as president at the Lions’ recent handover lunch held at the Three Horseshoes in Champanslade.
Alison has taken over the role from outgoing president Dan Norris, who thanked his officers and fellow Lions for their support during his year in charge.
Lion, Mike Geake said, “Alison not only becomes only the second lady in the club’s 58-year history to be the club’s president but has made it a family double, as her husband Peter was president in 2018.
“She thanked her fellow Lions for their attendance at the handover and said she planned to continue supporting all the current Lions projects and would also be looking at some potential youth projects in the area, as the youth were our future.”
