A lunchtime concert will take place at Christ Church on Saturday 20th September at 1pm.
The programme, performed by Gisele Bonadeo-Boll (violin) and Colin Howard (piano), includes Beethoven’s Sonata in D Major, opus 12 number 1, Sir John Tavener’s Fragment for the Virgin, Brahms’ Violin Sonata number 2 in A major, and Bartok’s colourful Romanian Dances.
Gisele Bonadeo-Boll studied violin at the Cleveland Institute of Music and at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She performed with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra under Charles Dutoit and with the world-renowned chamber orchestra I Musici de Montreal under the direction of Yuli Turovsky.
Since moving to the United Kingdom in 2009, Gisele has performed as a soloist, chamber musician, and with various orchestras, including the English Symphony Orchestra, The Bristol Ensemble, The Welsh Chamber Orchestra and the Westminster Cathedral Orchestra.
Colin Howard studied at the Royal College of Music under Angus Morrison (piano) and Vernon Handley (conducting), where he was a scholar and prize-winner. Colin has had a career in teaching, as well as much singing and conducting experience.
As a pianist, Colin has worked with many singers and instrumentalists, including John Noble and Steven Isserlis. The professional partnership between Gisele and Colin has been in place for ten years.
Organisers say, “Gisele lives in South Wales and Colin in Dorset, so what better place to meet than Christ Church in Frome.”
Tickets at the door cost £10 for adults and £5 for under-18s. The concert will last one hour.
Refreshments, sweet and savoury, will be available from 12.15pm.
