The annual presentation of the Frome in Bloom Awards took place recently, with many people receiving certificates and trophies for their garden-related achievements this year.
There were 31 categories in the competition, including children’s and school classes, wildflower garden classes, front and back gardens, allotments, and community gardens.
“It was considered by many to be the best ever competition,” said the organisers.
Trophy winners included Poppy from Hayesdown First School, Pepperbox Nursery, Morgan from Selwood Academy, Victoria Hall, Darren Young, The George Hotel, The Vine Tree, the Cheese and Grain, Greenhill Grange, Penny Grannon, Alison Collins, Patricia and Phillip Hinks, Christine Milne, and Mr and Mrs P. Painter.
Other winners were Richard Angel, Eve Berry, Popicoq, Caroline Toll, Marilyn Kirtley, Mike Darville, Paul Butler, Tony Bennett, Laura Coleman, Jane Batchelor, Mark Dredge, Mr and Mrs R. Angel, Phoenix House, Frome Medical Practice, Frome Business Park, Milk Street Green, and Trinity Community Group.
