A bowls club in Victoria Park is hosting an open afternoon this Sunday 26th April for anyone to try the game.
The event will start at 2pm at Frome Park Bowls Club and is open to anyone who would like to meet members, play and find out more about bowls.
President Steve West said, “You will be made to feel very welcome. Please wear flat soled shoes or trainers to allow you to go onto the green. This is a free event so what have you got to lose, please give it a go.”
Frome Park Bowls Club has just begun its outdoor season, with members looking forward to a busy programme of games and competitions, including a full fixture list of league and friendly matches this summer.
Steve said, “The club is looking to recruit new members to take up this very popular sport. Bowls is a great way to get out and meet people, it’s very friendly, it gives you a chance to get some gentle exercise and learn a new skill.
“If you cannot make our open afternoon, there will be other opportunities to come along and try bowling. The club has several qualified coaches who will be available to attend an agreed training session if you are interested. We have a Facebook page ‘Frome Park Bowls’, please check it out.”
