To mark Refugee Week, there will be a screening of an award-winning film exploring human experience of war and its impact on individuals and communities.
The film, ‘2000 Meters to Andriivka’, will be screened at Frome Town Hall on Friday 19th June at 7pm.
Hosted by the Welcome Hub for displaced people, the evening is open to everyone and aims to bring people together for an evening of film and reflection.
After the screening, there will be an opportunity for informal discussion for those who would like to stay and share reflections with others.
Mayor Anita Collier said, “Refugee Week is an opportunity to celebrate community, compassion and the importance of making people feel welcome. We hope this event offers a chance for people to come together, reflect on the experiences of others, and connect through culture and conversation.”
Tickets for the documentary are available for a suggested donation of £3, with proceeds supporting Frome Welcomes Refugees, a volunteer-led community group supporting refugees and displaced people through practical help, friendship, advocacy and activities that help people feel welcomed and connected in Frome.
