Frome Refresh has been busy packing Christmas gift bags for students in local Frome schools.
The charity reports, “We filled 100 bags with some of the more luxurious items that had been donated during the year by our lovely supporters. The bags were bulging!
“Frome Refresh partnered with some of the employees from Cooper & Tanner in town. Cooper & Tanner host a donation point for us and they were keen to get involved as Santa’s elves and help pack the Christmas bags, along with a number of people from the West Wilts Vineyard Frome Life Group.
“It’s been Christmas for us too! Holy Trinity Ladies Group has chosen Frome Refresh to benefit from a very kind donation of £200. Frome Refresh was pleased to send a representative to receive the money and to talk about the project.
“Frome Independent Market supports Frome Refresh with a percentage from all sales of their attractive Somerset Sisters tee shirts. Another wonderful sum has just arrived with us. We are grateful now only for the donation but also for the exposure they give to Frome Refresh, by including one of our fliers about the project with every tee shirt sold.
“And finally, in January we will once again run our ‘Regift to Refresh’ campaign. We invite people to pass on their unwanted toiletry gifts to us. Pop them in to one of our donation points in Part 2 Hair Salon in King Street, Frome Town Hall, Superdrug or Cooper & Tanner.

![Town-wide programme brings month of social activities in May
A month-long programme of activities and events is set to take place across the town in May as part of an initiative encouraging residents to connect with themselves, each other and local places.
The scheme, Frome Connects, will run throughout the month and includes a mix of social activities, creative events and informal meet-ups in community spaces.
Highlights include the return of Dress Up Fridays, which began during lockdown and invites people to wear formal clothing or fancy dress and turn the town into their catwalk each Friday.
Set-piece moments include a Kate Bush-themed flashmob (Running Up That [Catherine] Hill) on 30th May, followed by a bell peal at St John’s Church where the bells will play Running Up That Hill.
There will also be a whole-town drone photo on Friday 30th May, with everyone encouraged to ‘look up’ at around 12.30pm.
