DORE & Rees will be hosting its inaugural Classic Car auction in Frome, this Saturday, 2nd October.
35 classic cars will be auctioned in addition to a selection of 50+ automobilia items. And on Friday 1st October there will also be a sale of 80 collectors’ timepieces.
Classic sports cars up for auction include the highly successful 2018 Le Mans Classic class-winning MGA Roadster (£45,000 – £55,000), a rare French coach-built Facel-Vega HK500 Grand Routier from the late 1950s (£70,000 – £80,000), an Alfa-Romeo 2000 Spider with coachwork by Touring of Milan (£90,000 – £110,000), also a RHD 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SL “Pagoda” which has been with the same family for over 38 years (£55,000 – £65,000).
Supercar lovers are well catered for with two mid-engined Ferraris – a 1991 Testarossa (£80,000 – £100,000) and a 1993 348 TB (£38,000 – £42,000), a 1996 Honda NSX Targa (£30,000 – £40,000) and a 2006 Lamborghini LP640 Murcielago (£120,000 – £130,000) with under 14,000 miles from new.

Additionally, Dore & Rees will auction 80 time pieces on Friday 1st October, from the makers Rolex, Tudor, Omega, Longines and Jaeger Le Coultre, including a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Bi-Metal Datejust (£6,000 – £9,000).
Another item which is sure to generate much interest is an unusual and highly collectible Edison Electric Pen (£4,000 – £6,000).
On the morning of Saturday 2nd October there will be a wide selection of automobilia including collectible books, car mascots, desirable Ruddspeed decanters and rare period Jaguar dealer promotional items from the 1930s to 1960s.
The cars will be available to view next to the Cheese & Grain, on Friday 1st October and the morning of Saturday 2nd October.
All other collectibles will be available to view at Dore & Rees’ auction salerooms on Vicarage Street in the days leading up to the sale.
