FROME Friends of Palestine is this week hosting a talk by the founder and director of Alrowwad Culture and Arts Society, Dr Abdelfattah Abusrour.
His talk, including a short film of his work in the Aida refugee camp, will be held at the Cheese and Grain, this Thursday 9th December at 7.30pm.
He is visiting Frome following his talks at the Bethlehem Cultural Festival in London, Glasgow and online.
Frome Friends of Palestine say, “Abusrour’s concept and philosophy ‘Beautiful Resistance’, using performing and visual arts, culture and education, is a creative and peaceful expression in situations of oppression and trauma to provide possibilities to save lives and inspire hope and build peace within individuals to be peace builders in their communities and beyond.
“He started working with children, youth and later adults, focused also on mothers and women. He pioneered through Alrowwad many programs like: Mobile Beautiful Resistance program, using theatre, dance, photography, games library (play bus) touring all over the West Bank-Palestine to train trainers and connect with other Palestinian communities and marginalised areas.”
Entrance will be free but a donation to his work would be appreciated.
