LOCAL contemporary folk singer songwriter, Sue Harding, is releasing her latest album ‘Darkling’ and to celebrate, she’s inviting Gibraltar’s answer to Leonard Cohen, Gabriel Moreno, to open for her at the Home.in.Frome restaurant in the Market Place on Sunday 2nd October from 7pm.
Sue’s album ‘Darkling’, was conceived during lockdown and reflects upon a renewed connection with the English landscape and late Victorian poetry, particularly the hope of the darkling thrush, exploring themes of loss, redemption, joy and survival with a unique voice, range and heartfelt delivery that combine to create a hauntingly beautiful sound.
Delicate but powerful, ‘Darkling’ is full of poetry and invention that never fails to enchant with a retro sensibility that references the song writing of the 1960s and ’70s.
Gabriel Moreno is a charismatic poet, hailed as an offshoot of Leonard Cohen and Neil Diamond by Radio 6’s Cerys Matthews and is also the Ambassador of Culture for Gibraltar.
Snacks and sharing plates will be available to order on the night.
