The Merlin Theatre has launched its summer season of live entertainment, alongside the reopening of its ECOS open-air amphitheatre.
The programme brings together indoor and outdoor performances from professional and amateur companies across the country, with events spanning theatre, music, comedy, dance, spoken word, circus, workshops, puppetry and film screenings.
Half-term marks the start of a family-focused run of shows, beginning with a singalong screening of Wicked on Thursday 28th May. Children are also invited to take part in Circus Extravaganza, where young audience members become part of the performance alongside professional acrobats and jugglers.

Once the amphitheatre opens in June, outdoor theatre will feature productions from visiting companies including Illyria and Professor Slug’s House of Bugs. Illyria will present Pinocchio, followed by The Pirates of Penzance and As You Like It, while Miracle Theatre will bring Peer Gynt to the stage.
The season will also include comedy, poetry and spoken word events, with further highlights from Mark Thomas, Harriet Kemsley and Dirty Laundry’s summer poetry and spoken word night.
