Ballet Theatre UK performing Beauty & The Beast. Friday 18th November, 7:30 pm. £19. Conc – £13.

Join Ballet Theatre UK with one of the most enchanting love stories of all time, Beauty and the Beast.

Inspired by the original tale, this production tells the story of Belle, a beautiful and intelligent young woman who feels out of place in her provincial French village. When her father is imprisoned in a mysterious castle, Belle’s attempt to rescue him leads to her capture by the Beast, a grisly and fearsome monster. Little does she know that he is a Prince cursed by a magical Enchantress.

The only way the Beast may become human again is if he learns to love and be loved in return. The curse set by the Enchantress is bound by a magical rose. If the final petal falls all hope will be lost and he will remain a Beast forever. Their feelings grow ever deeper as the clock ticks and petals continue to fall will they confess their love for one another before it is too late?

Set to a stunning classical score this production will showcase new choreography by Artistic Director, Christopher Moore, as well as feature new sets and costumes created especially for this production.

Martin Hughes-Games and Iolo Williams. Wildlife Road Trip. Saturday 19th November, 7:30 pm. £21.

Wildlife TV presenters Martin Hughes-Games and Iolo Williams have teamed up for an amusing and informative show packed with facts and fun for the whole family. Extremely wild about wildlife these two brilliant and entertaining enthusiasts will take the audience on a funny and fascinating journey.

The journey begins with stories from their childhood when their love of nature and wildlife was just natural: Martin’s love of chickens and Iolo’s connection with fish and a compulsive desire to skip school, preferring to be out in the wild. The journey continues with stories of the occurrences and life events that lead them to where they are today, including Martin’s experience as a producer/director (there’s plenty of tales to tell here) and Iolo’s experience working with the RSPB catching egg thieves and working with the army.

The tales of their journeys continue to where they are today: well known and passionate wildlife TV presenters working with the BBC to educate and inspire its audience to connect with and care for the natural world. Here the audience can take a look behind the scenes of wildlife TV presenting and some of the interesting things it entails.

You can be sure it won’t be boring and nobody will fall asleep as the show involves audience participation, plus there is a wildlife ‘agony aunt’ to answer any wildlife questions the audience may have. All in all this is a funny, informative and very wild show!

Barry Steele in The Roy Orbison Story. Friday 25th November, 7:30pm. £23.50.

Barry Steele and a fabulous cast of musicians and singers will take you on a musical journey from The Black and White Night right through to the Traveling Wilburys and beyond – with so much more in between. They promise they’ll have you dancing in those aisles, in an evening jam packed with solid gold hits – rock and soul with style.

The History Of Rock. Saturday 26th November, 7:30 pm. £22 / £24.

The History Of Rock is a celebration of rock music through the decades. A jaw dropping night transporting you through the golden ages of rock! Featuring the music of artists such as Led Zeppelin, Cream, Guns n Roses, AC/DC, Queen and many more.

Rediscover the seeds of Rock & Roll in the 1950s, the birth of rock in the ‘60s, right through to the classic rock of the ‘70s and ‘80s.

A must see for any fan of rock! Experience this iconic music brought back to life by an exceptional live band consisting of some of the finest musicians and performers from around the world, original visual footage of the featured bands and artists, as well as incredible concert staging and lighting.

Relive the greatest Rock songs of all time.

An Evening With Michael Portillo. Tuesday 29th November, 7:00pm. £20.

Michael Portillo makes a welcome appearance in Frome to talk about his life and career. After studying at Cambridge University, he worked with Mrs Thatcher, briefing her before press conferences. As a Conservative politician, he took just over a decade to go from a seat in the Commons to being seen as possible future Prime Minister. His political career came to a humiliating end when he lost his seat in May 1997.

Since then, he has reinvented himself as a broadcaster of some renown, travelling the railways of the world for television, and investigating the history of numerous countries, and the daily lives of their people. He has also been a regular contributor to The Moral Maze, as well as writing for newspapers.

This special event will see Michael talk with flair and humour about his political recollections punctuated with hilarious anecdotes, will discuss today’s politics and behind the scenes glimpses into the filming of his popular railway journeys, which have now covered five different continents over 11 years.

Audience questions are an important part of the event, so come prepared. A lively and fascinating event not to be missed!

Michael will be available to meet the audience and sign books.

Coming up in December are Forbidden Nights on Friday 2nd December; That’ll Be The Day Xmas Show on Friday 9th December; Cara Dillon – Upon A Winters Night on Saturday 10th December and FMTC’s Pantomime, Cinderella from Wednesday 28th December to January 3.
