AJ Charlton & Sons Limited has announced that the company has been awarded the renewal of their Queen’s Royal Warrant for a further five years.
The gates and fencing firm, based at Buckland Down just outside of Frome, was first awarded the Royal Warrant in the year 2000. As well as suppliers of gates and fencing products to the royal household, Charltons have for many years supplied such organisations as the National Trust, English Heritage and the National Arboretum at Westonbirt.
The company’s managing director Peter Charlton said, “We are absolutely delighted to continue to have the huge honour and privilege of being able to bear the Royal Warrant.
“The renewal of a Royal Warrant is no rubber-stamping exercise. As a company not only do we have to pass the test in respect of our actual products, but equally important there is now a rigorous process for us to prove and satisfy that we also have in place environmental and sustainability policies as well as an action plan to ensure that those policies are properly implemented.”
Founded back in 1903, Charltons still remains a family-owned and run business with the fifth generation now working at the company.
