The traditional Irish band Finnegan’s Wake promises to bring a jolly evening of folk and sing-along songs to the Beckington Village Hall on Friday 15 July.
The fun starts at 7.30 for 8.00pm. It is the next of a series of successful events organised by the Rotary Club of Frome Selwood.
Frank and Mick, the members of Finnegan’s Wake, have been together for 8 years. They are both singers and provide striking harmonics on a background of guitar, banjo and accordion.
They have performed all their lives and appear in concerts, festivals and charity gigs in the South West on a regular basis. Every year they are well supported at the Westbury Music and Art Festival with their eclectic mix of Irish Music of reels, jigs and polkas, interlaced with a selection of Irish ballads and sing along songs which are sure to get your feet tapping too.
The price of the tickets is £10, which includes a light supper.
Tickets must be purchased in advance. They are available by phone from either Yvonne on 01373 859 207 or from Gloria on 01373 452 069. Or if you prefer email, then contact Yvonne on yvonne@hitchinson.eu or Gloria on frederickianbuchan@hotmail.com
Proceeds of the evening will go to Frome’s Youth and other charities supported by Rotary.
