HUNDREDS came to enjoy Rodden Meadow at Frome Town Council’s Picnic in the Meadow event last Sunday.
The town council report, “A fun and safe day was had by all and even the rain stayed away until the last picnic had been packed up!
“From making flower crowns, to bug hotels, from river dipping to axe throwing, the afternoon was a great success; accompanied by a fabulous set from some incredible musicians who were raising money for Fair Frome, while tucking into a tea and cakes served by the wonderful tea ladies from Active and In Touch.”
Cllr Anne Hills was at the event and thoroughly enjoyed the day, “The meadow looked amazing, and it was fantastic to see so many people enjoying themselves and the activities; it truly showed what a great space we have right in the centre of town. The event lifted everyone’s spirits and following the past 15 months, it was just the tonic for all who came. With restrictions easing, it was the start of a series of events Frome Town Council have planned over the summer and we hope to see more of you there!”
Plans are currently in full swing for Playday, being held on Wednesday 4th August at Victoria Park and Mary Baily Playing Fields from 12-4pm, it’s free to attend and there’ll be a host of playful activities for all ages.
