Frome FM is looking for people to help with a new once a week midday show which begins this week.
‘All About Frome’ will be live from on Tuesdays 12-12.30pm and will be repeated the following Thursday at the same time.
Frome FM membership and training director, Rupert Kirkham said, “The accent is on community involvement and interaction. Over time, the show will feature guests from local community groups to tell us what they are up to in Frome and the villages, topical interviews with local people who make a difference in the town, ‘Volunteer Army’ a volunteer slot where organisations which use volunteers can appeal and give news about the work of volunteers in and around Frome, interviews with people visiting the town for an event and a weekly ‘vox pop’ around town on current issues (we need reporters to help get these).
“There will also be previews of upcoming Frome FM programmes, phone-ins and emails to the studio on local knowledge questions and teasers, various segments such as, The week in Frome, 5 Minutes Past, Thought for the Week, Surfin’ Frome, The Week Ahead and a Village Report.
“It will also feature community jingles when every week a community group will present a 30-second jingle to advertise their organisation.
“We need production assistance to set this all up, research the items, welcome guests to the studio and manage the social media and publicity side of things and we welcome programme material already produced or new recordings looking for a home (short features, community messages etc) that people think might work on this format.”
