Lan Coronel, a horse that will appear in the famous chariot race featured in the new Ben Hur film soon to be released, is visiting the Corsley Show on August Bank Holiday Monday, 29th August.
The horse belongs to Jonathan Marshall who will be performing with his flying falcons and dancing horses in the main arena.
There will be a huge range of entertainment at the popular show.
Show secretary Jenny Rutty says, “Smash Bash Piano Trash teams will be battling it out in the main arena on August Bank Holiday Monday, 29th August.
“More local teams will also take part in a strenuous tug of war competition which made a jubilant come-back last year after a long absence.
“Winners of the team contests will raise a glass to Milk Street Brewery of Frome who have kindly donated two kegs of beer as prizes
“Infinity Dance Team from Westbury will also be welcomed to the main arena.
“Children’s sports will get the main arena acts off to a vigorous start, followed by a mass tug-of-war, children versus parents, while teams for our Championship Tug of War contest limber up.
“There will be live music from the Frome ukulele band, the Frukes, in the beer tent.
“In other corners of the scenic show field site, you will find Frome Town Archers. What a chance to discover your inner Robin Hood and try out your dexterity with bow and arrow.
“The Horticulture & Crafts Tent is always highlight of the Corsley Show and you will be astounded by the level of excellence on display. If you would like to contribute entries, do study the pages further on in the schedule to find a category that suits your skills. This year’s show features a model engineering display of planes and trains.
“The Vintage Vehicle Show, generously sponsored this year by White Horse Motors Ltd, is also a crowd puller. The parade will be held earlier in the afternoon and we are hoping for a bumper turnout.
“There will be a big choice of refreshments, dozens of stalls and activities to keep you amused, including the Horse & Pony Show and Dog Show.”
