FROME Town FC continue to announce new and returning players to their squad for the upcoming 19/20 season.
It has already been announced that captain Sam Teale has signed on again to remain at Badgers Hill and Joe O’Loughlin has re-signed. They are joined by previous Robin, Jon Davies, and newcomer Warren Maidment, both from new league rivals Melksham Town.
This month, manager Danny Greaves welcomes midfielder Chris Peck from Mangotsfield United, who previously played under Greaves at Bradford Town.
Chris said, “It was difficult to leave Mangotsfield after only one season, but after speaking to Danny about his plans and goals for next season, I knew I wanted to be apart of it.”
Badgers Hill also welcomes back midfielder Rob Hobbs for his third stint at the club following 64 appearances in his first two spells.
Rob said, “I enjoyed my time at Frome before under the previous managers and players. After meeting Danny and James (Moon), plus speaking to a few of the lads, it was a no brainer to sign. With the squad they are putting together, the professionalism and attitude they want, will ultimately bring the enjoyment of winning games this season.”
Both new midfielders are joined by attacking midfielder Martin Lenihan, signing from Bradford Town, playing under Danny Greaves during his time as manager there.
Martin said, “I’m happy I have agreed to sign for the coming season. I look forward to hitting the ground running and I am ready to kick-start a successful season for the club.”
Both Will Hailston and Dan Cottle will be rejoining the squad this coming season. Both players started last season at Badgers Hill, before returning to Bradford Town on dual registration.
Manager, Danny Greaves said, “They both have a point to prove and showed their hunger to return, after I met them a couple of weeks ago.”
Finally, it was announced that former defender at Frome Town, Mark Cooper, returns to the squad. He made 140 appearances for the Robins in his first spell at Badgers Hill, before moving to Weymouth in the summer of 2015.
Mark said, “It’s a club I enjoyed playing for when I was younger and after speaking to Danny and James and hearing their plans for the season, it made my decision easy. Added to that the squad they are already building, it will hopefully make exciting times ahead for Frome.”
