WINSTONE’S Hunting Raven Books is proud to be hosting the launch of local author Winnie M Li’s blistering new novel at the Frome Assembly Rooms on Thursday 23rd June.
Tipped to be one of the summer’s blockbuster reads, Complicit is ‘a sharp and timely look into the dark heart of Hollywood’ (ELLE magazine). When a Hollywood has-been is approached by a journalist about a male producer she once worked with, is this her chance for revenge – or was she complicit in a system that always preyed on women?
Complicit is Winnie’s second novel. Her previous novel Dark Chapter won The Guardian’s Not The Booker Prize and she has appeared on the BBC, Sky News, Channel 4, The Times, and TEDx London.
Winnie will be in conversation with fellow bestselling author Libby Page (Sunday Times bestselling author of The Lido, The Island Home, and The 24-Hour Café), as they discuss the book and its themes of female ambition and male privilege in the workplace, breaking the silence and building community.
They’ll also talk about the writing process and balancing writing with motherhood, followed by a Q&A. Both author’s books will be available to buy on the night and there will be an opportunity to have them signed.
There is ample parking at the venue and there will be a licensed bar. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
Tickets are £3 and can be booked online at www.bit.ly/winniemlifrome, by calling 01373 473111, emailing winstonebooks3@gmail.com, or by popping into the shop at 9-10 Cheap Street, Frome.
