Frome FM’s Magpie’s Folk Café kicked off the first of a series of fundraisers at The Bennett Centre on Vicarage Street, on Sunday 23rd February, to raise money for a #bridgesafterbrexit River Festival in Chateau Gontier on 25th July.
At the festival, 17 musicians from Frome will be playing, along with a number of French artists.
The River Festival was conceived by choir leader and resident of Chateau Gontier, Chris Hall, and Patrick Moss, local planner and host of Magpie’s Folk Cafe on Frome FM every other Sunday evening from 7pm. The line-up will be Sara Vian & GiGi, The Raggedy Men, Sweet Machine, Crossing the Rockies and Sue Harding.
The next fundraising event for the festival will be at the Bennett Centre on Sunday 29th March from 3-6pm with tea and cake available and/or BYOB.
