Business as usual for local shops while Tesco Express is closed

ALTHOUGH Tesco Express at Stonebridge will be closed for several months due to refurbishment, it is business as usual for rest of the shops close by. 

Tessa from The Little Flower Company said, “We have had comments from a few customers concerned about whether we will be affected by the closure and building works, but we have assured them that we will be open as normal and it won’t affect us.

“We battled with Tesco about the car park. They wanted to take a lot more space for the building work but we fought against it and stopped it.”

Matt and Tammi from Codswallop said, “We’ve had a few customers that have queried whether we will be closing whilst Tesco is being refurbished, but we want to assure all our customers that we will be open as normal.”

Clare Surridge who is a team leader at the Tesco store said, “The store is being completely knocked down and rebuilt and will take six – eight months maximum. It is great for the community as we will be providing a lot more ranges of food and products.”
