Kairos Theatre Company is back this year on 10th, 11th and 12th September with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s much loved musical ‘By Jeeves’.
The book and lyrics by Alan Ayckbourn perfectly capture the wonderful world of PG Wodehouse, as seen through his iconic characters Bertie Wooster and his imperious butler, Jeeves.
Kairos Theatre Company brings together some of the most talented local performers to present occasional productions of challenging musicals. Their last production, Stephen Sondheim’s “Company” was received with acclaim in 2012. This year’s show is being performed in the beautiful Cooper Hall at Selwood Manor, Frome, where the cast recently enjoyed a singing workshop with hall’s creative director and renowned opera singer, Morag McLaren.
Kairos means “opportunity” and gives budding performers the chance to act alongside more experienced actors. This year, Davey Evans is taking on the role of the bumbling Bertie Wooster. Davey is an experienced and award-winning actor and has performed many leading roles locally including “Sweeney Todd” and “The Full Monty” for Frome Musical Theatre Company.
Playing opposite Davey is Matthew Baker who is relishing the opportunity to play Jeeves. Steve Waterfield, Dave Merritt, Ed Henderson, Jack Hallett, Leonie Harrison, Amy Morgan-Bell, Emma Parrish and David Hynds are playing main roles with Justine Dewberry, Heather Cox, and Simon Maughan bringing considerable experience to the chorus. The show is directed by Anne Dimery with Amy Morgan-Bell choreographer, and James Finbow as musical director.
