23 Bath St says, “Starting with Lost in Vagueness on Friday 8th June – the ultimate untold, backstage Glastonbury Festival story! A debut music feature documentary by Sofia Olins and presented by Dartmouth Films.
“No Glastonbury this year, never fear, Lost in Vagueness is here! A night to celebrate, re-live and rejoice in a world that was Lost Vagueness, the infamous party that, as Michael Eavis says, re-invigorated Glastonbury Festival. You’ll see the feature film, dance to the music and delight in a one-off immersive night for the wrongly behaved! £12.50+ advance, more on the door. 18+. 7pm-2.30am.
On Sat 9th June, Groove Tots Gigs are back featuring Sinnober. Groove Tots Gigs offers the experience of high quality, live, acoustic music at a family-friendly time and setting. This gig features duo Sinnober, compromising of Natalie Brice (vocals, piano and bass) and Sebastian Brice (vocals and guitar) who live and work from their studio in Frome. The duo has released two albums to date – their eponymous 2015 debut album was championed by BBC Introducing and featured on Tom Robinson’s 6 Music Introducing Mixtape. £1/£5/£8 advance or door. “On Friday 15th June, The Godfather of Breaks is set to storm 23’s decks! Rennie Pilgrem created Rhythm Section in 1989, playing at every rave worth mentioning with DJ Ellis D, Nick Scott and Richie T, their EP ‘Comin on Strong’ fixed in the dance charts for 18 months and sold 20,000 copies!
“In 1993, Rennie started TCR Recordings to release his own material through. It was the underground Dance anthem ‘A Place Called Acid’ that got Pilgrem internationally noticed as a producer and DJ. In 1996, Rennie created an event named ‘Friction’, he described the music policy as ‘Nu Skool Breaks’ and gave a name to the movement that became established worldwide. Support from Nuts ‘n’ Bolts DJs Dale Martin, Tommohawk, Andy Nuttall and Jmige. £12.50 advance, more on the door. 18+. 8pm-2.30am.
