CHANTRY’S Holy Trinity Church will be hosting a Christmas concert later this month with critically acclaimed guitarist Richard Durrant.
Richard, a classically-trained concert guitarist, held a sell-out concert in the church last year, and is returning in November. The ‘Candlelit Christmas Concert’ will take place on Friday 28th November from 7.30pm.
His tour this year includes Christmas music from across the ages, with works influenced by early music, Christian, pagan and folk traditions. He will be joined by guest vocalist Amy Kakoura, and the voice of Barry Cryer on his track ‘The Polar Bear’. The concert will also have an emphasis on visuals, and the Grade I listed church will be illuminated by candles.
Tickets are £12 for adults, or £6 for children (under 12). They can be bought from the Nunney Spar, Mells Community Shop, the Vobster Inn, or online at www.chantryandwhatley.webs.com.
Refreshments will be available, and a percentage of the proceeds will go towards maintaining the Holy Trinity Church.
