STEVE Bane Fabrics has been crowned the winner of this year’s Carnival Window Competition.
Shops in Frome have been bringing out their colourful and creative displays for Carnival, and entering the competition run by the Frome Times and Frome Carnival Committee.
June Barnes, of the Frome Carnival Committee said, “We chose Steve Bane for their general design; we liked the emphasis on Carnival, and their display also brought in the Jubilee. The Carnival Gran, Carnival Queen, Miss Teenager, and the mayor were all looking at it and gave it ten out of ten.
“The competition went very well, and the others were very close!”
Lynne Angel from Steve Bane Fabrics said, “It’s fantastic to have won the competition, a lot of work went into the window. We wanted to really give it a British Carnival feel!”
The runner-up was Indulgence for their window in the Kingsway Precinct.
Claire Hughes from Indulgence said, “We are really pleased with second place. Our design is all hand-made and took ages to cut out and organise. We will definitely be entering next year.”
