A SPECIAL Christmas carol service was held in Frome last month and raised £380 for a local charity.
On Saturday 10th December Clarkson’s Independent Funeral Directors held its annual Remembrance Christmas Carol Service at Holy Trinity Church, Frome. The service was led by The Reverend Graham Owen with the assistance of other clergy from the Frome Deanery.
During the service the congregation were invited to come forward and light a candle, and place a message tag on the Christmas tree in remembrance of their loved one.
There was also a solo performance from local musician Kerry Bishop and Margaret Perry accompanied the carols.
Clarkson’s branch manager Wayne Kelly said, “The service was well attended, with standing room only. Our hope was to give families the opportunity, particularly at this time of year, to take time out and reflect in their own personal way. I would like all those who helped, for dedicating their time in making this service special.”
At the end of the service a retiring collection raised over £380 for Hannah’s Willbery Wonder Pony Charity.
A charity created by local woman Hannah Francis, who sadly passed away on 1st August this year, aged 18. The charity supports vital bone cancer research and Willberry’s Wishes, granting truly memorable equine related experiences to seriously ill people.
