Christ Church Autumn Fayre will be held on Saturday 28th October from 9.30am–12.30pm at Christ Church parish hall, Park Road, Frome.
The autumn fayre will include crafts, gifts, decorations, cards, Christmas wrapping and trims, toys, games, jigsaws, toiletries and jewellery, cakes, preserves and treats, raffle and tombola, baskets and refreshments.
Patsy Stephenson, parish administrator said, “With thanks to the Steiner Academy for making parking available at their adjacent site.
“We don’t receive Government assistance or business sponsorship, so we hold fundraising events to raise much-needed money for us to be able to keep doing what we do to serve the community.
“We visit people in nursing homes to enable them to share in the Communion of the Christ Church community, and others who are in need of company and prayers in times of loneliness or distress.
“We have close ties with Christ Church School and the Key Centre, ensuring all new students to the school are given Bibles when they start at the school, and donations are given to support the local food banks and YMCA.
“Local performers, choirs and orchestras enjoy performing in the church because of its amazing acoustics and there is an increasingly, very healthy attendance at concerts during Frome Festival Week and throughout the year.
“10% of everything we receive is given back to local, national and international charities and additional fundraising (including retiring collections after our services), is swiftly organised in response to natural and man-made disasters.
“We ensure the church is well maintained, clean, tidy, decorated with flowers (when the season permits), and ready for the occasional offices which our parishioners require for Baptisms, weddings and funeral services to be held in the church. We continue to have special celebrations for Easter Day, Harvest and Christmas. Refreshments are always available after our Sung Mass on Sundays. The churchyard and Garden of Remembrance also require maintenance and although, as with cleaning the church, the tasks are undertaken by volunteers, equipment and resources still have to be paid for.
“Please drop in and grab some bargains, have some fun and support us in the continued life of Christ Church, Frome. For further information regarding services and social events at the church, now in its 199th year serving Frome, please visit our website – www.christchurch-st marys-frome.co.uk”
