FROME’S Cheese and Grain will be transformed into ‘Christmas shopping heaven’ on the weekend of the 2nd December with the Extravaganza Market from 5pm – 9pm on the Friday.
With over 50 stalls selling festive treats, produce, gifts, clothing, jewellery and homewares from local suppliers, it’s a great chance to get your Christmas shopping well under way.
The Cheese and Grain will have its very own Gin Festival Stall selling a selection of fine gins and limited edition balloon glasses plus other gin merchandise, and gift vouchers for the gin and beer festivals in 2017.
A psychic will be taking readings in the hall during the Extravaganza, and if the shopping becomes too much you can have a quick head and shoulder massage with Relax and Chill Massage.
There will also be mulled cider and wine, mince pies and treats from the bar on the terrace, and bratwurst from Lekerbissen.
For children local charity We Hear You has brought Santa along and he will be upstairs on the mezzanine which will be transformed into a Christmas grotto and there will also be face painting from Painted People.
After the Extravaganza the Grain Bar will be open until 11pm with live music from Frome band Dexter’s Extra Breakfast and Frome’s own Banjo Babe, Kate Lissauer and her band Buffalo Gals.
Then on Sunday, The Magpie Market returns when the hall will be crammed full of Christmas delights and more gifts. The café will be open and serving festive fare and an ideal opportunity to rest weary legs after looking round the Independent Market.
Admission is free for both markets.
