Frome Consort will perform at St. John’s Church on Saturday 8th July at 7.30pm, as part of the Frome Festival.
Formed in 2016 to perform the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, Vivaldi, Handel and their contemporaries, previous Frome Consort concerts at St John’s Church have attracted large audiences.
One of the organisers of the event Jacquelyn Bevan said, “The group, whose lively performances of Baroque concertos on modern instruments have been described as ‘thrilling’ will play Bach’s Double Concerto in C minor for Violin and Oboe (soloists Ruth O’Shea and James Watts) and the Concerto for Solo Violin in E major (soloist Lucy Hewson, leader of the Pump Room Trio); two flute concertos by Vivaldi (soloist Leslie Sheills) and a rarely-heard gem by Telemann: the Chamber Concerto for Recorder, Oboe and Violin in A minor.”
