LOCAL Labour Party supporters have organised a coach trip to London for a pro-EU protest later this month.
Somerton and Frome Labour will be setting off from Frome Train Station at 7.30am on Saturday 25th March for the Unite for Europe march on Parliament.
The coach will return at 6pm. Tickets cost £12 per person, or £6 for under 16s.
The group’s Laila Jhaveri said, “With just weeks to go before Theresa May triggers Article 50 and begins the Brexit negotiations, remain supporters under the banner of Unite for Europe are organising a march on Parliament on Saturday 25th March.
“The purpose of the march is to demonstrate the support there still is for remaining in the European Union. Whilst triggering Article 50 now seems inevitable, there still remains huge uncertainty about what the UK’s position will be outside of the EU.
“Serious concerns have been expressed from many quarters and leaving the EU should not be inevitable.
“Neither should the Government changing its mind on leaving the EU be seen as politically disastrous or undemocratic. You can make a difference by taking part in the march. It is not too late! Everyone is welcome to join.”
