OVER the past six months the Pub Cricket Team and Frome Cricket Club have been raising money for Frome based charity Positive Action on Cancer.
Recently Kelly Hall from PAC collected a cheque for £1,169.
The team were inspired to raise money this year as one of their members, Mary Seago has cancer and along with her children has been using the service at PAC.
The team organised a quiz night on Good Friday with quiz master Geoff Bowers, and organised a disco and cricket match in May. They also had collection tins on the bar at the cricket club and this boosted the total.
Kelly Hall said, “It was such a pleasure to go and collect the cheque from the Pub Cricket Team. A big thank you to everyone who has been involved in raising this money. We are seeing our highest number of referrals ever and every penny raised really does make a difference to our work. The money raised will be used to provide counselling sessions in Frome.”
PAC is currently the only organisation to offer free professional counselling to any adults or children affected or bereaved by cancer and other life threatening illnesses in BANES, Somerset and West Wilts.
