Dr Syntax (MC) and Pete Cannon(producer/DJ/MCare set to perform live at 23 Bath St, on Friday 23rd March. The duo have been making music and touring together since 2010 and they’re well renowned for smashing shows all over the UK and at festivals such as Boomtown Fair (UK) and Outlook (Croatia).
Organisers say, “Both reputed solo artists in their own right, their collaborative releases ‘Killer Combo’, ‘Elaborate Anoraks’ and ‘The Tonic’ combine witty, insightful lyricism and gob-smackingly banging beats to great effect!
“While their sound is rooted in Hip Hop for the most part, their riotous live performances showcase their versatility with ventures into Bass music, Old Skool Hardcore and Jungle.
“Dr Syntax has been a well-known name in the UK Hip Hop scene since he appeared on Foreign Beggars ‘Asylum Speakers’ album in 2004. Since then, he has released numerous albums including his classic 2007 debut ‘Self Taught’ and ‘Scene Stealers’, his 2008 collaboration with Ed Skrein (Deadpool/Game Of Thrones) as Skreintax. More recently, his name has been synonymous with acclaimed Manchester band The Mouse Outfit. He appeared on their albums ‘Escape Music’ and ‘Step Steadier’, and has toured with them relentlessly across the UK & Europe.
“Pete Cannon is an incredibly prolific and versatile producer, having collaborated with Action Bronson, Guilty Simpson, Del The Funky Homosapien, Rizzle Kicks and Lunar C to name a few.
“He has worked extensively with UK Hip Hop’s best known label, High Focus, notably producing tracks for Dirty Dike, Jam Baxter and Verb T, and entirely producing the ‘High Focus Remixes’ album. As versatile and skilled behind the decks as in the studio, his Jungle sets at High Focus events have become the stuff of legend!
“Dr Syntax and Pete Cannon have been working on their new album, production being handled entirely by Pete Cannon with vocals from Dr Syntax, the album also features collaborations with Harleighblu, Fox (Levelz/SwingTing), Dabbla (High Focus) and Gardna (Boom Sound).”

![Town-wide programme brings month of social activities in May
A month-long programme of activities and events is set to take place across the town in May as part of an initiative encouraging residents to connect with themselves, each other and local places.
The scheme, Frome Connects, will run throughout the month and includes a mix of social activities, creative events and informal meet-ups in community spaces.
Highlights include the return of Dress Up Fridays, which began during lockdown and invites people to wear formal clothing or fancy dress and turn the town into their catwalk each Friday.
Set-piece moments include a Kate Bush-themed flashmob (Running Up That [Catherine] Hill) on 30th May, followed by a bell peal at St John’s Church where the bells will play Running Up That Hill.
There will also be a whole-town drone photo on Friday 30th May, with everyone encouraged to ‘look up’ at around 12.30pm.
