FROME’S next Business Breakfast, on Tuesday 3rd May, will explore employability from both employers’ and employees’ points of view.
How can businesses get the best out of apprentices, work placements and new recruits? And how can students best position themselves to do well in the world of work?
At the next Frome Business Breakfast on Tuesday 3rd May, hosted at Frome College, a range of opinions will be heard; from Nicholas Clitheroe of Real Ideas, an organisation that focuses on helping people with barriers into the workplace; from local businesses who have taken on apprentices and work placements; from apprentices themselves, and from Mairi Connelly who runs a recruitment agency in Frome and Bath.
Terry Bishop of Frome College will also be promoting ‘Next Steps’, a project that works with local employers interested in taking on an apprentice or finding out more about pre-apprenticeship schemes.
This will be an inter-active session with a chance to share your experiences of taking on employees, young and not so young – and there will be advice on how to access and utilise the free support available.
