A pop-up exhibition to showcase five years of Green and Healthy Frome opened earlier this week.
As the Green and Healthy Frome project draws to a close, visitors can view information about the groups and projects addressing Frome’s wellbeing, ecology and economy; meet members of Frome Town Council’s Resilience team and explore photographs, artefacts and archives from the Green and Healthy Frome project, illustrated by local artist Jenna Herman.
Green and Healthy Frome was a lottery-funded partnership between Edventure, Frome Medical Practice and Frome Town Council. It focused on the health and wellbeing of both people and planet, believing that if we improve the health of one, we can improve the other.
Projects included Healthy Homes and Solar and Beyond – helping people to feel warm and comfortable in their homes as well as supporting people to switch to renewable energy; Plastic Free. Period, supporting people to switch to plastic free and reusable period products; Cycle Together – which supports people to cycle more and drive less; and reduce/reuse/recycle initiatives, Donate IT, Everyone Needs Pockets and Future Shed – and much more.
Mayor of Frome Cllr Anita Collier said, “We’re saying goodbye to Green and Healthy Frome, but so much of its great work is here to stay, thanks to Frome’s amazing community organisations and everything it has given us during five years of collaboration.”
The ‘Imaginarium’ is at 23 Cheap Street and open between 10am and 5pm until Saturday 28th March. In addition to the week-long exhibition, there are free workshops on Friday 27th March with Frome Families for the Future from 10am to 1pm and a mending workshop with Everyone Needs Pockets on Saturday 28th March between 10am and 2pm, where people are welcome to bring mending projects, learn mending skills and find out more about the group.
