Frome Town slumped to defeat in the FA Cup first qualifying round at Badger’s Hill.
The home side had the best of the early exchanges with the visiting keeper spilling a shot from Humphries in the third minute with Frome unable to capitalise and Starr curling a shot just wide in the fifth after some lovely build up play.
It was the visitors who took the lead however on 12 minutes as Frome appealed for a foul on half way play continued and a cross from the right was inevitably fired home by ex Frome striker Kane Simpson.
Tiverton should have doubled their lead right before half time but a last ditch sliding tackle from Maidment with the open goal beckoning averted the danger.
The second half was tougher and somewhat without incident with neither goalkeeper troubled, other than Locke having to leave the field injured and Maidment having to take his shirt for the last 10 minutes.
Tiverton shaded the game and deserved their victory and Frome need to focus on getting back to the standards they have set.
