FAMOUS faces from music, comedy, food and entertainment have set their sights on Frome as they bring their shows to the town.
Excitement is building around Frome with news that over the coming months the town will welcome top names including celebrity chef Rick Stein; BBC’s Bargain Hunt’s David Harper (see his interview on page 6); singer songwriter, Shaun Ryder; legendary Manchester band Happy Mondays; popular gardener and broadcaster, Alan Titchmarsh; top comedians Joel Dommett and Andy Parsons; a special visit from ‘Boycie’ John Challis of Only Fools and Horses; one of Rock’n’Roll’s original pioneers Marty Wilde; singer Elkie Brooks, famous for hits like Pearl’s a Singer, and Sunshine After the Rain; Showaddywaddy who boast ten Top 10 singles including Under the Moon of Love which reached No. 1; rock band Wishbone Ash; The Blockheads (keeping the spirit of Ian Dury alive); folk rockers Steeleye Span; Somerset’s own Scrumpy and Western band The Wurzels; Merrill Osmond, the original lead singer of The Osmonds; and cricket commentating legend Henry Blofeld.
On Tuesday 5th November one of the UK’s most well-loved celebrity chefs and TV presenters, Rick Stein, is visiting Hunting Raven for a book signing of his latest book ‘Rick Stein’s Secret France’.
On Wednesday 13th November David Harper, an antiques specialist known for his appearances on BBC’s Bargain Hunt, brings his ‘Unexpected Tales’ tour to Frome Memorial Theatre. A live, unscripted evening telling his tales of profits and losses, celebrities and the world of antiques! Frome Times spoke to David who said, “My show is nothing like you have ever experienced before!”
English singer and songwriter, Shaun Ryder invites you to an evening with him at the Cheese and Grain on Friday 17th January 2020, following on from his Happy Monday’s gig this December. He will share stories of his life, career and the music industry!
Popular gardener and broadcaster, famous for BBC’s Groundforce, Alan Titchmarsh takes to the stage at Frome’s Memorial Theatre, showcasing all his talents wrapped up in a bundle of glorious anecdotes and enlightening ‘tales from his life on earth’ on February 20th 2020.
Announcements of popular comedian Joel Dommett at the Memorial Theatre, comedian Andy Parsons at the Merlin Theatre and a special visit from ‘Boycie’ John Challis at the Merlin Theatre also came this month, with dates for 2020.
