If you want to learn about Frome’s history now is your chance to find out.
Frome Community Education is running a 10-week course on the town’s fascinating but, at times, controversial past, starting on Monday 23rd September.
The afternoon course is being tutored by well-known author, local historian, and regular Frome Times columnist, David Lassman.
All sessions will be held in the meeting room at Frome Library.
The course will cover the history of the town from its founding by St Aldhelm, up to the present day and there will be a chance to research your own project.
David said, “The local history course has always proved very popular and can be a springboard to other things.
“Former participants have had articles and books published through their work on the course, as well as attaining prominent roles in local history organisations.”
David is the author of several books on the town, including ‘Frome in the Great War’ and ‘Foul Deeds & Suspicious Deaths in and Around Frome’.

Frome Community Education is a community interest group, staffed by a group of volunteers and is currently celebrating its ninth year of running courses.
