FROME Town FC have four new signings ready to help the club in the upcoming season- Joe Budd, Ross Stanley, Caleb Summerfield and Thomas Duffin.
Following a spell in New Zealand playing for Manurewa FC, Joe Budd was at Conference South side Taunton Town, helping them win the Southern Premier Division in his first season at the club. The 20-year-old was a graduate of the Bristol Rovers academy.
Ross Stanley also came up through the academy system at Bristol Rovers, earning his first professional contract in 2012. Like Budd, Stanley also played a pivotal part in Taunton’s rise up the leagues and has recently returned from a spell in NZ with Manurewa FC. Ross also spent time with league rivals, Yate, as well as playing and coaching in Australia with Rockingham City and Eastern Lions.
Caleb Summerfield, after a successful trial with the club, joins having recently moved to the area and a previous manager of Caleb’s advising Frome of his talents. After playing in the Dallas Cup, Caleb was scouted for a scholarship resulting in him spending three years in the US for Rich Mountain and Brewton Parker.
Thomas Duffin, who is US-born but holds dual British citizenship, has recently moved to the UK. He is no stranger to this part of the world due to his family roots and has been over on a number of occasions, participating trials at clubs including Glasgow Rangers and Crystal Palace as recently as this spring. While in the US, Thomas featured for Orlando City and is no stranger to success, having won two Florida State Championship victories for Pine School in 2022 and 2023 and played USL 2 soccer league for FC Florida.
