A Frome business owner is preparing to take on a 26-mile walking challenge along the Jurassic Coast to raise funds for Alzheimer’s & Dementia Support Services.
David Wye, owner of Domesticare in Keyford, will be joined by his friend Elaine Keene for the event, which begins in Weymouth on Saturday 17th May. The pair are raising money in support of the charity following the recent dementia diagnosis of a family member.
The charity has been providing dedicated support for people living with dementia for over 30 years.
This year’s challenge follows their successful completion of the Macmillan Cancer Support ‘Mighty Hike’ last year, where they walked 26 miles through the Monmouth Hills.
“We really appreciated the fantastic support we received for last year’s challenge,” said David. “Any donations for this year’s walk, however small, would be gratefully received.”
So far, David and Elaine have raised £480 for the charity.
