A Royal Air Force Sergeant (Sgt) Will Anstis from Frome, Somerset has volunteered with the South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) as part of Operation RESCRIPT.
Operation RESCRIPT is a scheme for full-time military personnel to volunteer with the SCAS in their spare time. Will is based with the Wexham Patient Transport Services and assists patients who need to attend critical appointments. This involves transporting patients to hospital treatments, taking them home after treatments and moving them between hospitals when required.
Will said: “This is a complete change from my normal role on 99 Squadron and I am incredibly proud to be able to support the ambulance service during these unprecedentedly busy times.”
Sgt Will Anstis is a member of 99 Squadron, based at RAF Brize Norton, and works as an Air Loadmaster on the Royal Air Force C-17 Globemaster Aircraft.
