AN editor from Frome, Simon Best, who publishes ‘Caduceus’, an independent quartely journal, is celebrating the publication’s 100th issue.
‘Caduceus’, which is on sale at Frome Wholefoods, was created in 1987 by acupuncturist Sarida Brown in Leamington Spa. Simon took over the publication in 2006.
It explores the frontiers of spirituality and science, alternative/complementary medicine and the psyche’s inner and outer reality.
It grew repaidly and attracted many well-known names and authors in the field, such as the Dalai Lama, who wrote an article, ‘World Peace’, to celebrate its 50th issue.
Simon said, “I took over the reins with issue 67 in 2006. Among some special issues was issue 71, which highlighted tributes to Eileen Caddy, co-founder of the Findhorn community, among which were two articles by Mike Scott, of The Waterboys, who lived next to her at Findhorn in the early days.
“EMF (electro-magnetic fields) hazards are a long-term interest of mine and thus have featured in many issues, including this our 100th issue, with my report of the dangers of 5G.
“Similarly, we have covered many health areas including vitamin D, iodine and breast cancer, raw milk, seaweed, cholesterol, statins, vaccination, Fukushima radiation, and ozone therapy.
“Issue 97 was devoted to the latest theories and research into cancer, such as the metabolic theory of cancer and the use of hyperthermia therapy, used extensively in Germany with reduced chemo, but sadly almost non-existent in the UK.
“On the spiritual side, topics have included Jesus’ family and its Glastonbury connections, Yogananda and Kriya Yoga, the warnings of the Kogi Indians, the mysteries of Rosslyn Chapel, sacred geometry, shamanism and the spiritual effects of sound and light.
“The publication, Caduceus, moved from Midhurst in W Sussex to Frome in 2017, where it is now published and sold in Frome Wholefoods among other outlets, as well as on the website: www.caduceus .info.
