A Frome charity has been selected for a match-funding opportunity to further its work in supporting people through pregnancy, birth, parenthood and baby loss.
As part of this year’s Small Charity Week from 22nd to 29th June, all donations made to Frome Birth Talk via the Big Give website up to £2,500 will be matched, meaning supporters can help the charity reach twice as many families.
Frome Birth Talk offers free and low-cost counselling to anyone who is pregnant, has had a baby or has experienced baby loss within the previous two years. Alongside counselling, the charity runs five weekly drop-in groups for parents and their babies and young children, creating safe, welcoming spaces for connection and support.
Director Suzy Cristinacce said, “With research showing that at least one in five parents experience mental health challenges during the early years, services like Frome Birth Talk are increasingly essential. The charity offers rapid access to support, with an average waiting time of just two to four weeks, compared with typical NHS waiting times of around 16 weeks.
“We know how important early support is for parents’ mental health. This match-funding opportunity means we can reach more families sooner at a time when many are struggling. If you’ve ever considered donating, now is the time to do it. Your generosity will stretch twice as far.”
The charity is calling on the community to take part in the fundraising week from 22nd to 29th June.
