Christmas is fast approaching so it’s time for the traditional Flash Harry gig at the Corner-house in Frome, with local saxophonist, Vicki Burke.
A regular feature on the Cornerhouse Christmas line-up, Flash Harry’s energetic festive appearance pulls in a big audience and gets people dancing to a heady mix of Irish, blues and Balkan songs. After a busy year, including an appearance at Frome Festival in July, this Christmas gig at the Cornerhouse, will be the final Flash Harry gig of 2019. The gig takes place on Saturday 14th December at 8.30pm.
Flash Harry has been a favourite throughout the South West for over 30 years, playing their heady mix of music, peppered with off-beat humour and songs about hamsters being lost on the underground. Vicki, saxophonist and singer, also plays with Somerset protest folk band Seize the Day, and formerly played with bands including Up Bustle and Out, and local Frome funksters Fat Stanley.
Vicki Burke said, “I guess it’s a tradition now, playing a home gig at the Cornerhouse is the start of my Christmas and I absolutely love it. We are really blessed to have this pub putting on great live music for free in the town and I’m chuffed to be a part of it.”
Entry is free however, the magic hat will be passed round during the evening!
