FROME Collegians’ First and Reserve teams are returning to the pitch this month following the Covid-19 lockdown.
The club report, “The current league seasons have been cancelled, but now both teams will be playing in the exciting tournament/cup matches put in place by the Wiltshire Senior and Mid Somerset Football Leagues.
“The Firsts will be playing in the South group of the Fountain Trophies Senior Cup, which sees the clubs from the Wiltshire Senior League Premier Division split into two groups; North and South. The winners of each group will contest a final at the end of May.
“The Reserves will be participating in the Baxter Shield competition along with other teams in the Second and Third Division of the Mid Somerset Football League. The competition will be run on a Champions League format and will start with a group competition followed by a knockout phase.
“In line with the FA return to football guidance for the return to football after 29th March, spectators are not allowed at football matches and we would respectfully ask that everyone helps the club to adhere to this requirement by refraining from attending until government/FA guidelines change.
“Hopefully, as we progress through the easing of the Covid-19 restrictions, spectators will be allowed at matches with effect from 12th April and we look forward to welcoming you to our pitch at that time.
