Bath University student and recipient of the bursary offered last year by Frome Friends of Palestine, Deivi Ois, will give a talk at St Catharine’s Hall which gives a fascinating and immediate impression of life in the Occupied West Bank.
Deivi’s essay on ‘Why I Want to Experience Palestine’ won her the bursary, which provided her with travel costs and introductions to charities and contacts in the West Bank. Her four-week trip last September, living with local people in Israel and the West Bank, gives a real insight into the daily hardships and humiliations of a population under a long-term military occupation – something a quick news report can never provide.
Deivi’s talk is in St Catharine’s Hall, Park Road, at 7.30pm on Friday March 15th.
