A RECENT episode of the BBC’s ‘DIY SOS’ starred Frome garden designer, Abby Hazell.
The local garden designer was chosen to transform and design a new garden for the Sweet family from Weston-Super-Mare.
Filmed last year in 2019, mum Cat, dad Chris and their children, Louisa, Max and Harry, were taken out of their home for nine days to allow the ‘DIY SOS’ team in to transform their house and garden.
Harry, aged six, has Ehlers Danlos syndrome and Louisa, aged 12, and Max, aged nine, have both been diagnosed with Friedreich’s Ataxia, so alterations were needed to allow wheelchair access.
The episode of ‘DIY SOS’ was screened on BBC1 at the beginning of the month. About watching the episode back, Abby told Frome Times, “I feel proud and have fond and fun memories of working with a dynamic and passionate team who worked so hard to deliver the house and garden for such a worthy family in need.
“Thank goodness it was done for them before lockdown in the time when we could hug!”
The episode is available to view on BBC iPlayer until Saturday 2nd January 2021, visit the website for more information – www. bbc.co.uk/iplayer
