After several defeats, Frome Ladies U15s were looking for a well-anticipated win. Playing hosts to Stoke Lane, the home side started well, having most of the play in Stokes Lane’s half and creating a number of opportunities.
Just when Frome’s efforts were going unrewarded, a well-placed 20-yard strike from Lucy Dinham broke the deadlock. Ending the half 1-0 up, it was now the last 45 minutes that would make or break the ladies. Having created plenty of chances Frome were now really pushing to extend their lead. It was a long ball from Dinham that set Steph Isaacson up to slot home making it 2-0. A real confidence boost for the whole team, Frome were now a lot more comfortable. However, this didn’t stop a very determined Stoke team putting pressure on their back four and forcing keeper Hannah Christer to make some brilliant saves.
Frome sealed the deal when a fortunate deflection enabled Naomi Nash to lob the goalkeeper and score Frome’s third and final goal. Frome are looking to come back with another win when they play away to Stoke Lane.
